This pet portrait of Bernese Mountain Dog Baron is based on a photo, taken by his owner, that I’ve been looking forward to working from for some time.

I love the energy and zest for life that was captured in this photo and enjoyed the artistic challenge of recapturing the detail, action and movement in a portrait.

Baron’s portrait has been produced on Pastelmat board by combining both drawing and painting techniques and using artist quality watercolour and oil based pencils and blenders.

The water detail will be added using Brush & Pencil’s Titanium White powder as soon as it’s back in stock.
