I’ve been looking forward to working on this Jack Russell Terrier portrait for some time.
Such a cheerful, cheeky character with a huge personality, real sense of humour and a mischievous glint in his eye.
When choosing reference photos to work from I’m always looking for a sense of the pet’s personality. Having a well lit, detailed, close-up photo certainly goes a long way in helping me to produce a life-like, realistic pet portrait, but if the photo has also managed to capture an essence of the dog’s character I always feel as though I have so much more to work with.
This little chap has been a real delight to have on my drawing board.
