03 Aug Bernese Mountain Dogs

This portrait brings together five Bernese Mountain Dogs owned and loved at different times.

The central subject Platzli was first to arrive and where the passion began. He paved the way for Big Pete and Otto at the top of the composition, who in turn passed the baton on to current residents Ursli and Berni at the bottom of the portrait.

A selection of printed and scanned photos of the long since departed dogs were combined with recent digital photos to provide a working reference.

Hand drawn on Pastelmat using a combination of Faber Castell & Caran D’Ache artists pencils.
