Bernese Mountain Dog Kona is fondly remembered by photographer Jill Bingham Daniels who kindly gave permission for me to use this photo as a portrait reference.

Kona’s happy relaxed expression captures the spirit of Bernese for me and I have produced both a painted portrait and a pencil portrait of this wonderful boy. I don’t think I can resist returning to work with him again in the future … a graphite portrait and further paintings from this reference photo are planned for the future.

This pop-art style painted dog portrait was produced on pre-mounted canvas using Windsor and Newton acrylic paints.
